TRIALS

Well, in the last few weeks I have been working on some personal things and put my blogs aside to do so. Nothing to worry about, I just need to sort things out and deal with things.
I continued studying prayer and have been learning so much and I intend to go back to that, but I feel like talking about trials will help me a lot and I hope that it can help someone else, because we all know we ALL have trials.
Trials are so personal and individual. One event in someones life can be a huge overwhelming trial where another person can go through the same thing and they seem just fine. PEOPLE, we are ALL different. We deal with things different, we see things differently, we internalize things differently and therefore our trials are personal.
I have just started my studying on this topic... again. In the last few years I have studied it a lot and wondered about it a lot and asked a lot of questions. What I have discovered is that the more I study the more I feel like I can deal with hard things they happen. In the moment it is not easy, but if you can get through the epicenter of it all you will be able to see the light.
For now this is what I have and I plan to focus on this topic for a little while because I have some ideas for posts (Side Note: If you have anything let me know, message me, email me, text me, call me, email me, whatever). So, here is a scripture to end and maybe keep you thinking.

“Whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day” (Alma 36:3).

God bless you till we meet again my friends.

PRAYER= Strength

I think for many of us prayer is just something that we do, not always understand. That could be just me, but as I have studied prayer I have realized that prayer can never truly be understood to the fullest in this life, but it can be better understood for sure.
In the LDS Bible Dictionary it says:
As soon as we learn the true relationship in which we stand toward God (namely, God is our Father, and we are his children), then at once prayer becomes natural and instinctive on our part. Many of the so-called difficulties about prayer arise from forgetting this relationship. Prayer is the act by which the will of the Father and the will of the child are brought into correspondence with each other. The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves and for others blessings that God is already willing to grant, but that are made conditional on our asking for them. Blessings require some work or effort on our part before we can obtain them. Prayer is a form of work, and is an appointed means for obtaining the highest of all blessings. (You can find this at www.lds.org)
This passage really struck me. As I read it over and over I feel the love of our Father in Heaven and start to understand better why prayer is essential!
So, above we learn that when we get to an understanding of who we are and the true relationship we have with God our prayers "become natural and instinctive". That is really awesome if you ask me. :)

Well folks I have more to write about for sure, I've been studying the scriptures and different talks from general authorities, but Miss Olivia is getting lonely so another time. Good luck on your studies!

Apology

I guess this is an apology to myself and any of you who might be reading.
I really am excited to get this blog rolling, but of course right when I got it started my life got a bit crazy. My brother coming home a bit early from his mission and having a broken foot has occupied my time. Between Olivia and him and doctor appointments for the both of them I have been busy.
I can't just blame them though some of this is my fault for not managing my time better, so here is the plan:
Every week I will choose a topic to study and become more familiar with. During that week my goal is to post at least once, but more preferably.
Oh, and by the way if you are reading this and have an article, a topic, a scripture, ANYTHING to contribute please leave a comment or email me at laciejorobinson@gmail.com. I would love the participation. :)

SO....
This up coming week (March 4 - March 10) the topic is

PRAYER
